The neighbor had this feeling one day thinking of the old man. He says he loves the old man. The old man has never done anything wrong to him but the old man's eye. He had an eye of Vulture, a pale blue with a film over it. Whenever it felt upon the neighbor his blood ran cold. He decides to kill the old man. He's not sure why this idea came to him.
He watches the old man for days while the old man is sleeping with the door slightly open with only a little light as small as a spider web. He Continues to watch the old man for eight nights in a row. He does not move a muscle.
On day eight He suddenly makes a move. That move makes a sound. The old man gets up with fear in him not knowing what made the noise. He waits for the old man to sleep. The old man stays awake still in fear after one small noise. soon after a while.
He throws the bed over the old man causing him to die. He felt powerful for his plan to work. He takes the old man and cuts him up in the bathtub to get rid of all the blood. He puts the corpse under the floorboards. It was 4 am still dark when a knock was at his door with three officers at his door. He lets the officers in and gives them a seat while he sits on the floor board with the corpses under.
He sits down with the three police officers talking to them as he's talking to them he starts to talk faster and faster. He soon starts hearing the old man's heart beat in his mind. The beats kept getting louder and louder. The regret was haunting him and as the beats got louder and louder. He assumed the police now knew what he did to the old man.
He just couldn't keep it in anymore; it was haunting him with regret. He shrieked and admitted he did the crime. He tells the officers the body of the old man is under the floorboards. He couldn't take the sounds of the old man's heart beating.
