- Thomas is playing football and running for a touchdown in the NCAA.
- Thomas:I do not think I am feeling well. I have shortness of breath and chest pain.
- Doctor: The lung function test that I just ran on you shows that you have constriction in your lungs
- Doctor: It looks like you have asthma man.
- Thomas: Oh no!
- Doctor: I am going to give you a drug called albuterol which is liquid inhalation. It is beta-agonist bronchodilator
- Doctor: This medication is used to open air way
- Thomas: Ok that is good
- Thomas: Can albuterol be used in another form other than inhalation
- Pharmacist: Yes, you can also use it in tablet form, but they must dissolve in the stomach and be absorbed into the blood for it to be effective.
- Pharmacist: I suggest the inhalation because it works faster than the tablet
- Pharmacist:Side effects of albuterol include nervousness or shakiness, headache, throat or nasal irritation, and muscle aches. Any Questions?.
- Thomas: No sir, thank you.
