- The main conflict is that of Snowfall struggling with being queen of the Icewings. How to keep her people safe from the other tribes, especially the Nightwings and recover from the scars left by Darkstalker. Meanwhile refuges from the lost continent arrive in her kingdom and a ring keeps giving her visions, adding to all of her other justified and possibly unjustified Worries.
- Climax
- Cricket reveals that some of the refuges are decedents of the Nightwing Clearsight in an attempt to show that the refuges are not complete strangers. Snowfall then realizes the similarities between the refuges and Nightwings and in a moment of anger and fear activates the animus touched armbands she get from the treasury, which reveals the hidden Icewing army.
- Falling Action
- Snowfall experiences /.''Rising Action 2Snowfall experiences a vision of Tau from the lost continent and that Jewel Hive is preparing to evacuate before Queen Wasp and her army gets there. Then Talks with Lynx to discover the part of the power of the Gift of Vision, which is that of discovering another dragons thoughts and feelings in order to help the become more empathetic. Resolution

- The queens of the tribes meet up to discuss the lost continent's dragons and Queen Hazel talks about the events that have happen there. The queens talk about how Queen Wasp is unable to safely navigate and cross the ocean without a map. Snowfall then reveals part of the fact that she has been having visions of it including that the dragons left behind a map and those that were keeping it went into a trap.
- Quibi suggests that rather then the queens send their armies to the lost continent, they send a small stealthy strike team. The stealth team's goal is to discover what the abyss is and find a antidote to the breath of evil. Queen Snowfall after backing the plan of sending a representative of each tribe and one scavenger, debates over sending her cousin Winter or her new friend Lynx, and ends up choosing Lynx because Winter is technically exiled.
- Queen Snowfall has one last vision, which is of herself and she talks to the spirit/essence of the Icewing animus that created the Gift of Vision. In the vision Opal reveals that the Gift of vision was made to only be seen by queens that weren't quite ready for the throne and that it would give visions to help the queen. Snowfall is finally able to take off the ring but also worries that she is still not ready. Before Opal vanishes she changes the vision to that of her mother Queen Glashier having faith in Snowfall when she would later become queen.
