  • This chapter is important because it shows how Fredrick is understanding how white people have all the power and they hurt black people and it is not fair that black people get treated unfair and white people dont get none of the punishments the black#160;people get.

  • This chapter is important because it shows that Mr. Gore kills Demby and he just gets away with it and it is showing Douglass#160;that white people get to do whatever they want to black people and black people just have to deal with it because there black.#160;

  • This chapter is important because it shows Douglass finding ways to read even tho Mr. Auld discontinues teaching him like giving bread for knowledge, Competed#160;with white boys to see who knew the most words, and more.#160; It was helping Douglass learn about slavery and how it is not fair at all how black people get treated.#160;
  • This chapter is important because slave masters send slaves to Mr.Covey#160; so he can brake them.#160;Douglass was one of those slaves that got sent to Mr. Covey and he broke Douglass so bad that Douglass got fed up and could't take it no more so he did the exact same thing to Mr.Covey.So Douglass learned that it was not fair and there was no inequality#160; between slaves and white people.#160;
  • This chapter is important because Douglass finally gets a taste of freedom and this is because he had a deal with Mr. Auld to pay him every week and he had to be persistent#160;with the payments so one of they days he missed the payment and Mr. Auld did't take it no more and freed#160;Douglass so he was finally able to be a free slave.#160;
