- Conflict
- I'm just gonna feel left out all the time! Why should I be in it if I'm not going to have any friends?
- No. You are not my friends.
- But you have us right?
- Whatever. I gotta get to class.
- Hey Becca why weren't you at the book club meeting? Are you okay?
- Jess, Emma, Cassidy, Megan and their moms, and Cassidy's little sister, Chloe, all met at Walden pond for a Mother-Daughter Book Club swim with their new members-Becca and Calliope Chadwick.
- Climax
- They had a meeting a couple of days after welcoming the Chadwicks, when Cassidy had hockey, and the Chadwicks weren't there either.
- Falling Action
- The girls found out why Becca and her mom weren't at the meeting at school on Monday. Becca felt left out because she thought she would never have any friends in the book club because she hadn't been in the club as long as the others.
- Resolution
- The next meeting was at the Sloane's house where Cassidy's mother had just finished filming and episode of her cooking show, "Cooking with Clementine." No one else knew why Becca wasn't there, again, until Jess and Megan told the rest of the book club what they found out on Monday.
- When Jess and her mom asked to see Becca and Mrs. Chadwick at Walden Pond a couple days after the last meeting, the Chadwicks thought they were only meeting Jess and Mrs. Delaney but the whole club was there.
- In the end they decided that the Chadwicks would stay in the club as long as the other girls were nice and included her in their activities. They went out for ice cream after almost every meeting and had lots of fun together. The Chadwicks would never REALLY fit in to the girls but they made them feel like they did.
