This scene is depicting Gatsby or Jay Gatz's family and how he did not want to acknowledge them as his parents because they were poor. This contradicts what he had told Nick earlier in the story about how he inherited his wealth from his parent.
You're not my parents, you're too poor. I'm leaving home.
In this scene it is showing when Gatsby warned Dan Cody about the weather while he was on his yacht and the start of his relationship with Cody. This was their first meeting and would help form who Gatsby is as a person in stories he present time.
Ok Thank you! Im Dan Cody.
The weather is bad you should stay ashore.
This is depicting the scene where Cody tells Gatsby to lock him up in his room when he gets drunk so that he doesn't end up doing something he might regret and so he doesn't harm anything or anyone.
I need you to lock me up when i'm drunk.

This is the scene where Tom, Daisy, and Nick are going to the party that Gatsby invited them too. Daisy is excited to be there at first but then becomes upset because of Tom, Nick has an opposite experience from the usual parties at Gatsby's.

Welcome to my party!
This is the scene when Nick and Tom are talking and Tom calls Gatsby some bootlegger, and Daisy hears. After Nick asks him where he heard Gatsby was a bootlegger Tom says that he didn't hear it, he imagined it.
Gatsby is some big Bootlegger, i know it.
