Life on a slave boat

- Today the British soldiers came and captured my whole village and my family. I am so devastated about this I can see that they are loading us onto a ship to become slaves for Americans.
- We have out at sea for almost 3 months and our lives are just getting worse we have to sleep crammed together with someone pressed up against you it also smells horrible because the crew don't let us go to the bathroom. Many people have jumped over to avoid becoming a slave. They have been monitoring us while we eat to make sure no one starves because if they lose another person their pay goes down. I haven't seen my dad since we got captured, I really miss him.
- We have been separated by males and females and kept in different places from what I know we are almost there which means that the males will be sold to work on plantations to farm cotton, rice and sugar and the females including me will become domestic slaves which means we will work in households and cook, clean and anything else. I still haven't seen my dad and hope he's still alive and on the boat.
