  • Animal Farm by George Orwell
  • Summer Carrington
  • In the beginning of the story, Old Major gathers up all the animals on Manor Farm, and encourages and inspires the animals to revolt against Mr. Jones. Old Major dies though, and it is up to the rest of the animals to revolt. Napoleon and Snowball are the pigs that want to continue his work, and become the leader of the farm. The animals now establish their own form of government.
  • I will continue Old Major's work and be the leader!
  • I will run the farm, and ensure all animals are happy and equal.
  • One of the major conflicts presented in the story is the competition between Snowball and Napoleon to lead the farm. Their competition created some sort of tension, and it got Napoleon thinking of what he should do to end up leader.
  • I will lead the farm better, just you wait and see
  • A conflict presented throughout the story is between the animals and humans. The animals sought to rebel against the human running the farm. They believed that all humans were bad, and that they should not be under their rule.
  • Humans are horrible!
  • The pigs felt as if they were superior, and that they could rule everything when it comes to the farm. A conflict that had happened was between the animals on the farm and the pigs. This conflict caused the farm to pretty much turn to chaos in the end, and the animals working until they couldn't anymore.
  • We are superior!
  • The climax of Animal Farm is reached whenever Napoleon chases Snowball away from the farm with his trained dogs. Napoleon declares that the pigs will be the only ones that can make decisions for the farm. They are the ones that are superior, or in power.
  • This farm is under pig rule!
