- Lady Macbeth was confident that she was going to kill Duncan. When she approaches him he resembled as her father and she could no longer do it. She then exits the room.

- Macbeth enters the room with a bloody dagger. Lady Macbeth now knows that Macbeth has killed Duncan.
- Macbeth feels guilty that he killed King Duncan.
- Lady Macbeth orders Macbeth to wash his hands. She tells him to give her the daggers so she can frame the guards.
