- People in France have become increasingly worried about their plastic waste from buyinggroceries. Specifically, fruits and vegetables tend to be wrapped in plastic and produce lots of waste.
- The government say that this ban is a part of their mission to eliminate single-use plastic by 2040

- France has passed a new ban on plastic wrapped fruits and veggies. Spain will also follow in its footsteps in 2023.

- Producers of some more vulnerable varieties, like tomatoes, raspberries and blueberries, have been granted longer to find alternatives to plastic, but plastic packaging will be gradually phased out for all whole fruits and vegetables by 2026.
