- Due to the Nazi Party winning the elections, the German president (Paul von Hindenburg) elected Hitler as the new Chancellor of Germany.
- August 2, 1934
- The Dachau Concentration Camp opens, first of its kind. It's original purpose was to hold political opponents. It had 4,800 prisoners by the end of 1933.
- March 12, 1938
- Pro-Nazis begins burning books classified as "un-German" (such as books that had anti-Nazi ideals or books that were written by Jewish authors)
- October 28, 1938
- The president of Germany dies, leaving yet another vacuum of power. Hitler rises to the position and declares himself Führer, turning Germany into a total dictatorship.
- Germany invades Austria and claims the land, adding the country into the Third Reich.
