Storyboard-Text

  • Exposition
  • Rising Action
  • Climax
  • I WISH...!
  • Herbert and Mr. White were playing chess. Mrs. White was sitting near the fireplace, peacefully sewing. Sergeant Major-Morris came to their house after being on a trip to India. He mentions the monkey's paw that grants 3 wishes for three different men. Although Sgt. Morris warns them about the paw, he warns them about the consequences.
  • Falling Action
  • Mr. White grants his first wish and it ends as a consequence. A man who works with Herbert goes to Mr and Mrs. White to tell them that their son died and in return to help them out he gave them 200 pounds.
  • Resolution
  • He didn't want to let whatever it was outside inside their house. Before Mrs. White can open the door Mr. White goes to look for the monkey's paw. Then Mr. White uses his final wish.
  • Literary Element
  • The knocking stops. Mrs. White opens the door. A cold wind rushed up the staircase
  • They go outside to see if there was someone outside. There was a big disappointment on Mrs. White's face. There is nothing more but a deserted street.
  • In this short story, there is a lot of foreshadowing. In the picture above we see an example of it in The Monkey's Paw. In this pictute we see that Sgt. Morris is telling Mr. White to leave the paw in the fire and to let it burn. Mr. White doesn't do so and wants to keep the monkey's paw. Although, Sgt. Morris is trying to warn them about the consequences that the paw can do.
