- Chapter 1: Sound of Running Feet meets Jason Upright. Shoots his wife's copper pan.
- Chapter 2: General Howard confronts Chief Joseph about moving from Wallowa to Lapwai.
- Y'all need to move to Lapwai!
- Its not good to drive people from their homes.
- Chapter 3: General Howard gives Chief Joseph 30 days to move the tribe out of their homeland of Wallowa.
- I will move my tribe across the river
- You have 30 days or I will send guns to drive you out!
- Chapter 4: Chief Joseph tells the people to pack to leave Wallowa. Swan Necklace and Sound of Running feet are engaged.
- We leave in 10 days, start packing
- Chapter 5: Everyone crosses the Snake River to leave Wallowa. Sound of Running Feet's Mother delivers a baby.
- Chapter 6: a group of warriors attack the white settlers, killing two. Swan Necklace is there and participates. The war has started.
