- Coraline has just moved to a new 3 flat house. This house looked exactly like the creepy, old and boring house in the movies. This 3 flat house contained Coraline's neighbors Miss Spink and Miss Forcible which lived on the ground floor and a crazy old man which lived at the top most floor which means Coraline Family lived in the middle floor.
- It was raining that day meaning that Coraline wont be able to explore outside. It was the only thing Coraline was fond of when she moved to this new house.
- Coraline tried convincing her busy parents to let her go outside in the rain but only getting a displeasing response back. "I don't really mind what you do," said Coraline's mother,"as long as you don't make a mess.".When Coraline asked her father, he responded telling her what she could do in the house "Count all the doors and windows. List everything blue. Just leave me alone to work".
- Coraline started exploring the flat. Listing down every door and window on her notepad. Making sure she isn't missing anything blue. This was so boring Coraline thought to herself. But there was nothing else to do so she carried on with exploring the flat.
- Coraline went through the the small door in her drawing room but to her confusion she came out in a room that resembled the same drawing room at her flat . When she came out the small door she heard a person call out her name that sounded exactly like her mother. Coraline walked through the halls and saw a woman tall,thin,white as paper and had buttons as eyes she asked the woman who she was and the woman responded with " I'm your other mother"
- Coraline and her other mother (Beldam) is having an argument about the deal they settled between each other. Coraline still needs to find her parents to escape the other world and she knows exactly where they are all she needs to do is operate her plan to get them.
