- After Macduff proves himself loyal, the two of them join

- Sir! Your family has been murdered by Macbeth!
- Ross arrives, bringing news that Macduff’s family has died
- Macbeth is doomed!
- Vowing revenge, Macduff resolves to return to Scotland and murder Macbeth himself.
