- The Spanish were exploring jut for gold- finical gain, Glory- bring power or pride to country, and God- Converting Natives to Christians. The monks main concern was to convert natives to Christians.

- Pineda was sent to map the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Sadly he was not able finish his mission.

- Well this isn't the city of Cibola. There isn't even no gold here.
- Cortes was sent to Mexico. Then with local Aztec enemies they defeated the Aztecs and he was able to send back lots of gold back to Spain.

- Since his expedition got lost he was sent back. On the way back there was a hurricane that wrecked there ship.The became shipwrecked on the Galveston Island.Then with the help of the local Karankawas and other tribes they were able to get food and shelter to survive. Although many of them died. Later him and 3 other men went to Mexico telling the story of the city of Cibola.

- Have you heard of the city of Cibola that is made out of gold .
- Coronado and a group of 1000 men went to search for the city of Cibola. The only thing they found was the Grand Canyon, Pacific Ocean, and present-day Kansas. He was not able to successfuly find the gold.
- Grand Canyon
- La Salle was sent with a group of men on aboard 4 ships. They lose 1 to pirates and another one in the sandbar bay. He wanted to land at the Mississippi River but ended up at Matagorda Bay. They did not get along very well with the Native Americans that lived there. He later then went to Mexico to get supplies and when he came back his fort was destroyed and many men have passed away. Then La Salle was killed by his own men.
- I leave for a second=d to get supplies and my fort is destroyed UGHHHH!!!!!
