- The Patriarch Abraham made a covenant with God promising that if he and his family left Ur and traveled to Cannan that one day this would be his descendants' Promised Land. Years later a famine stuck Canna. Abraham's grandson, Jacob and his family fled to Egypt. As the Israelites grew more numerous, and practiced Monotheism and enslaved them all!!!!

- Moses was a Hewbrew who was raised in the palace of the Pharaoh in Egypt. He wanted to leave the palace because the Pharaoh was enslaving the Hebrews. The Pharoah would not let the Hewbrews out of slavery.
- This called the 10 Commandment
- The punishments included sicknesses, swarms of insects and the first born died. Moses told the Israelites to avoid these punishments by marking their doorways with the blood of a lamb.

- The Pharaoh demanded that the Isrealites leave Egypt. Moses led the Israelites to the Sinai Peninsula. The Freedom of Hebrews is called Exodus and is remembered during the week of Passover
- The head back toward Cannan through the Sinai Peninsula. Moses received the 10 commandments and other laws from God at the top of Mt. Sinai. They tell the Israelites/Hebrews how to behave toward God and one another.
- Moses died in the desert, so Joshua, his assistant led the armies into Canna, they conquered Jericho. The isrealites conquared several small kingdoms, called tribes….some settled in the south, north, and east.
