- Finally a big marlin came along and that's when the real fight came along. Even though Santiago was in horrible pain he never stopped fighting with for what he wanted.

- Santiago was hungry and in pain from staying out at sea for so long. Santiago had horrible cuts on his hand.

- The boy had the leave the old man because after 84 days of not being able to catch a fish the boys parents said he was no longer aloud to fish with him

- Santiago tied up the fish and began his journey home. But on the way back, a great shark gets attracted to the marlin's blood .
