- Louis XVI paid not much attention to his government advisers, and had little patience for the details of governing. However, He had to call a meeting, called the Estates-General an assembly of all three estates, because the France government was having financial problems.
- Reign of Terror
- The members of the French Third Estate took the Tennis Court Oath, saying "not to separate, and to reassemble wherever circumstances require, until the constitution of the kingdom is established". It was a crucial event in the French Revolution.
- Rise of Napoleon
- Now I will be the emperor.
- Storming the Bastille took place in Paris, France. The prison was attacked by an angry and aggressive mob. Then the mob overwhelmed the guards and seized control of the building. The fall of the Bastille became a great sumbolic act of revoloution to the French people.
- Fall of Napoleon
- We must retreat.
- Robespierre became leader of the Committee of Public Safety. For the next year, he governed France virtually as a dictator and, the period of his rule became know as the Reign of Terror. Their task was to protect the Revolution from its "enemies".

- Napoleon rapidly rose through the ranks of the military during the french revolution. After seizing political power in France, he crowned himself emperor.
- Napoleon's desire for power had raised him to great heights, and the same love of power led him to his doom. However, Napoleon made three disastrous mistakes. The most disastrous mistake of all was the invasion of Russia.
