- This is Zacharias Janssen. He invented the microscope in Middelburg, in 1590, the year we are in right now. To move on to the next scientist we need to go through another portal.
- Whew! That was a bumpy ride! Who is this scientist, Mrs. Smith?
- This is Robert Hook. Mr. Hooke invented the cell in Cork, in 1655. Onto the next scientist!
- This is Anton Van Leeuwenhoek. He contributed to the cell theory by creating a new and improved microscope in Belgium, in 1676.
- This is cool. Now I want to know who discovered that all plants are made of cells?
- This man goes by the name of Matthias Schleidan, and he is responsible for discovering the fact that all plants are made of cells in Berlin, in 1838!
- I love plants, thanks for explaining them Mr. Schleidan!
- Now, this man, Theodore Schwann discovered that all animals are made of cells. He discovered this at the University of Liege, in 1848!
- Wow, I thank him for showing us how cool our animals are because they are made of cells!
- Moving onto the next scientist, this is Rudolph Virchow. He discovered that cells come from other cells in Germany, in 1855.
