- I'm going to walk you threw the life of a star. Oh, look a star is starting to form now, lets check it out.
- A stars life begins as a Nebulae. Clouds of dust and plasma with 75% hydrogen and 25% helium. Gravity causes the gases to collapse and start rotate. This can last up to 50 million years. Lets speed up the time.
- 50 milllion yeqrs later
- Oh, look our star is almost done. The next cycle: The forces on the spinning gases cause them to flatton and condense toward the center. This process is called Protostar.
- 1 Million year later
- Well can you believe the star is now almost done with it's life. This state is called main sequence star. This is what are Sun is in. Once the star fusion of hydrogen and helium has begun the star is classifided as a Sequence star.
- 10 billion years later
- Our star is almost gone now. He's almost in his last state. He's a Red Giant state. This is when the star gets bigger and bright as it cools because 10%-20% of his hydrogen runs out of fuel.
- 100 million years later
- Our star is in Planetary Nebula. The gas in the atmosphere becomes so spread out that it dissipates.Most of the star's mass gets lost in space, but some mass goes to new stars forming and starting their life.
- 10,000 years later
- Our star is in the last stat, the white dwarfs. Out star has died, yes it's sad, but he still will glow for billions of years until he goes out and becomes a black dwarf.
