- I'm Meridian Ravenstill. Would you like to take a walk with me?
- You're from Nevermoor? I didn't think that anyone from the Free State lived in the capital.
- Later, in the gardens....
- Oh, I've never been to the city, but my mother lived in the Silver District when she was a girl...
- My dearest Meridian,I hope life is treating you well, and that you are taking good care of yourself...Though I am undeserving of such an honor, will you marry me?- With love, Ezra
- A few months later, in Ravenstill Manor's gardens....
- Oh! I, ah, um....
- I....yes, Corvus Crow. I accept your proposal.
- Meridian Odelle Ravenstill, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?
- Don't be afraid, my dear. Young Corvus will take excellent care of you.
- My darling daughter, excellent news! Corvus has asked me for your hand in marriage, and, of course, I couldn't refuse.
