Hey, Lennie what would you like to add to the dinner menu on Monday? . I already have breakfast and lunch filled out
Create a mini-cookbook for the Ranch, based on what the characters would eat. Create three days of menus. You can take the recipes from the internet, but you need to draw illustrations of the food or draw the characters enjoying the food to go along with it.
If you have read "Mice and men" by Steinbeck , then you know the book is about two guys who share a dream to own a farm to grow a lots of crops and animals. This is evident in the quote , "Tell about what we're gonna have in the garden and about the rabbits... we'll have a big vegetable patch and a rabbit hutch and chickens." (Pg. 7) this is significant because I want to incorporate veggies in to my menu . I also know from chapter 1 that Lennie really enjoys beans and ketchup so I added a few of meals with beans. Also, after researching meals that were popular during the depression I decided to add a few to the menu because that was the time era George an Lennie were in.
Background information
yes we can do that. Back in the old house me a Lennie enjoyed cooking for each other
Of course we can help with just about anything . what did ya have in mind
Gorge if you and Lennie wanna stay here at this ranch you guys are going to have to pitch in around here
I was thinking tp put you guys in charge of the meal prep for the next 3 days and then you will switch off with Sheila
Not bad...
this will do.
Later that day
I like beans with ketchup ... what about something with beans... remember the one night by the fire you gave me a can of beans...I think they will love it as much as i did.
*shows the boss the menu they came up with*
Cooking so the boss could taste test it.
Yes boss .
Lennie when our dream comes true ill cook you all the beans you ever want
now it sure isn't nothing fancy, although, what you did with what we have was enough and it does not taste to bad, great job fellas
go ahead an taste it yourselves then go gather the others for supper
*samples each meal before letting the workers eat*
