- Hello Class! Today we learn how to factor a number
- Step 1: Divide the number by the smallest number such that the smallest number should divide the number completely.Step 2: Again, divide the quotient of step 1 by the smallest number. Repeat, until the quotient becomes 1.Step 3: Finally, multiply all the factors that are the divisors of the division.
- In mathematics, factorization or factoring consists of writing a number or another mathematical object as a product of several factors, usually smaller or simpler objects of the same kind. For example, 3 × 5 is a factorization of the integer 15.
- Example:-Let's check for the factors of 8. Since 8 can be factorized as 1 × 8 and 2 × 4. But, the factors are 8 are actually 1, -1, 2, -2, 4, -4, 8 and -8. But when it comes to problems related to the factors, only positive numbers are considered.
