- After they departed the met a giant king who ate on of his men
- half of his men were tuned to pigs by a witch
- "Odysseus and his men next land on the island of Aeolus, the wind king, to stay with him for a month"(Book 10 intro)
- Odysseus made a deal with the witch and they stayed for a year
- The discouraged mariners next stop briefly in the land of the Gladstones, fierce cannibals, who bombarded there ship with boulders.(intro)
- afterward he and his men went to the land of the dead
- scarce had they drunk now when she flew after them with her long stick and shut them in a pigsty- bodies, voices, heads, and bristles swinish now.(32-35)
