- O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name! Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I'll no longer be a Capulet.
- Shall i hear more, or shall I speak at this?
- Act II, Scene II.
- Tis but thy name that is my enemy. Thou art thyself, not a Montague. What's Montague? What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other word would smell as sweet. Romeo, doff thy name; and for thy name, which is no part of thee, take all myself.
- With love’s light wings did I o'erperch these walls,For stony limits cannot hold love out,And what love can do, that dares love attempt.
- How camest thou hither, tell me, and wherefore?The orchard walls are high and hard to climb.
- This scene is also known as the balcony scene, in which Romeo sneaks into the orchard that has a view of Juliet's window and professes his love for her though she cannot hear him, at the same time she speaks out loud without knowing he hears her.
- I have nights cloak to hide thee from their eyes; and but thou love me, let them find me here.
- Still not knowing Romeo is hearing her, she expresses how she is kind of upset Romeo is a Montague, and how it affects their love. He will still be perfect if he wasn't a Montague, and in reality, is just a name that makes no difference at all.. Romeo is climbing, planing to reveal himself.
- Wouldst thou withdraw it? For that purpose, love?
- Th'exchange of thy love's faithful vow for mine.
- But to be frank and give it thee again. My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my live as deep; the more I give to thee, the more I have, for both are infinite
- I gave thee mine before thou didst request it; and yet I would it were to give again.
- Juliet is surprised to see Romeo at her balcony. She's wondering how did he climb the orchard walls to what he answers: with the wings of love; love can make him do anything.
- O blessed, blessed night! I am afeard, being in night, all this is but a dream, to flattering - sweet tone substantial.
- A thousand times good night!
- Juliet is aware that if some family member sees Romeo, they will kill him for who he is (a Montague), but Romeo deeply in love answers that he would prefer to be dead man than to live without Juliet's love. The darkness is hiding him, anyways.
- If they do see thee, they will murder thee.
- In this cell, Romeo wants Juliet to make promises about their love, not knowing she already did. They both love each other infinitely.
- After talking, the nurse calls from offstage, this is way they say goodbye hoping to see each other soon. Romeo finally adds that he didn't know if that conversation was whether real or not, because it was just like a dream. At this point the scene is done.
