- After falling off a yacht near ship-trap island', which is in the Amazon, Rainsford, a big game hunter, comes across the house of General Zaroff. Upon his visit, Rainsford finds out that General Zaroff hunts humans as a game! The person being hunted gets sent out with a hunting knife and food, if they survive for three days they win! If the General finds them, he kills them.
- Climax
- During luncheon on the second day of Rainsford's stay, General Zaroff informs Rainsford that he is going to be hunted that night. Rainsford gets kaki clothes, a hunting knife and food, he leaves the house, into the jungle and General Zaroff follows him at dusk.
- Falling Action
- During the three days in the jungle, Rainsford sets up traps and tricks to throw the General of his trail, one of the traps involved a swamp, and killed the generals dog.
- Resolution
- .
- After Rainsford survives the three days, he sneaks into Generals Zaroff's house, and challenges General Zaroff to a sword fight to the death. Rainsford wins.
- Rainsford sleeps in General Zaroff's bed.
- Rainsford goes back to his home and tells the story of his experience on the island.
