Prediction of the story based off of quotations

Storyboard-Text

  • On page 3, the narrator says, "Jt wasn't all my fault", which makes me feel as though the story will start off with some sort of major event happening that will influence the future of the story, especially considering the quotation from the page after which mentions the narrator saying goodbye. From this, the narrator seems distraught from the event that could have occurred. He also seems irresponsible, as he tries to push the blame away from him.
  • On page 4, the narrator exclaims, "I don't care if its a sad goodbye or a bad good bye, but when I leave a place, Ilike to know I'm leaving it". This makes me feel as though my theory about an event pushing the future of the story is correct, with the narrator leaving somewhere, perhaps his home, after an event where he is blamed. From this quote, it seems like the narrator is used to goodbyes and maybe has never stayed in one place for long.
  • On page 10, the narrator later says, "I moved my ass a little bit on the bed". Even though I had thought that the narrator had left home, this shows me that he may still be there or living in another house shortly after, seeing how he has a bed. He also seems uncomfortable, giving him moving around.

  • Towards the end of the book on page 153, a woman says "All these handsome guys are the same". This quote conveys to me a feeling of heartbreak and betrayal. The woman who says this quote could have had a relationship with the narrator, who then betrays her. The narrator betraying her wouldn't be much of a surprise given his seemingly irresponsible and naive personality. The woman who said this probably also dated other guys in the past and had experienced betrayal.
  • Towards the very end of the book, on page 187, someone says, "People are mostly hot to have a discussion when you're hot". I picture the same woman who drew the conclusion that all handsome men were the same saying this, as it could relate to how/why she was betrayed in her past relationship. This quote could go with the idea of phonies, and that the narrator or whoever she was previously in a relationship with only liked her because she was "hot"
