  • what has tourism brought to India?
  • Urbanisation
  • Urbanisation has had some positive impacts and negative impacts on India
  • what has urbanisation brought to India?
  • Infrastructure
  • infrastructure development has had many positives to India
  • has infrastructure development helped India much?
  • Tourism in India has brought over a huge positive multiplier effect. by having tourists enter the country and spend more money, this causes an increase in demand. this increase in demand forces an increase in supply causing more businesses to operate and even causing some to open. this means more rent and tax for land is paid to the government, meaning they have more money to spend on development through infrastructure, healthcare, etc. however there are negatives to tourism as this can cause overcrowding and traffic jams to the already very populated India. there are also changes in the economy as people increases prices as more wealthy people are coming into the country and local people may not be able to afford it anymore
  • Education
  • urbanization has its positives and negatives for India. positives include better job opportunities and higher standards of living. living in large cities such as Mumbai or New Delhi has had many positives for the country such as giving more access to education and healthcare services. however, there are drawbacks to an increase in urbanization. India is a largely populated country meaning the urbanized cities would need to be huge in order to comfortably fit most people. 20% of India is living in poverty meaning they will not be able to pay for the increased rent in the urbanized city
  • Health
  • the improvement in infrastructure has improved roads and buildings, making them much better for people to use safely and encouraging more tourism in the country. The improved housing improves living conditions and can help deal with overcrowding as bigger homes can fit more people more comfortably, possibly increasing the happiness of citizens in India. However, there are very few negatives of improving infrastructure and that is the increase in home prices. The improved homes will tend to sell for more making the poorer part of the population possibly homeless. The government need to tear down slums and improve them, leaving the poorer citizens unable to buy a new home
  • power
  • India's has been influenced by the UK because of it was colonised by India
  • Improving education is very important for India's population as a better education means people can get better-paying jobs allowing them to avoid living in poverty. If people are working in better jobs then they are able to receive a pension once they leave the job allowing them to live easier lives. The improved education can cause there to be a higher adult literacy rate, improving the HDI. The only Negative of education improvement is that people are now able to study outside the country in greater colleges and work outside, thus decreasing Indias yearly income
  • Education development has been very important for the population and increasing the HDI of India
  • has education development benefited India
  • improvement of Healthcare in India has proven to be very important for ensuring that the people in India live safely and live for much longer, increasing the HDI of India. By increasing the money put into improving healthcare India has seen a drop in infant mortality, going from 66 per 1000 births to a measly 38 per 1000 births (almost half the amount). India has also seen an increase in life expectancy, from 63 to 68 years. This can however mean that healthcare is more expensive, therefore making it harder to access by the people living in poverty
  • how has health improvement helped India
  • Improving Healthcare in India is very important to ensure that the population is safe and Healthy
  • India is a parliamentary democratic republic where the president is the head of state and the prime minister is the head of the government. The Indian government has a corruption score of 40, ranking 86th in the world. India was colonized by the UK from 1858 to 1947. This rule of India caused their economy to be stagnant and backward. the political system was very poor and Britain rejected a democratic choice of a president and/or prime minister
