  • Trust vs. Mistrust
  • Can I reallytrust this randomgirl?!
  • Come here! Give your sister a hug!
  • Autonomy vs. Shame Doubt + Initiative vs. Guilt
  • * pees quietly *
  • Industry vs. Inferiority +Identity vs. Role Confusion
  • I'm being good by reading books in the school library, but should I being making friends?
  • This original, fictional story is based upon a true story: how I see my brother's life (in the forthcoming future). From birth to being 18 months (1+ y/o), a child's focus is on who trust and not trust, Erikson's first Stage of Psychological Development: Trust vs. Mistrust. Here, my brother [Kendall] is deciding whether to trust me, his sister, as he doesn't know who I am.
  • Intimacy vs. Isolation
  • Wow, I can't believe you are my girlfriend!
  • Potty training is crucial during Erikson's second stage, Autonomy vs. Shame Doubt, but as my brother has not yet been potty trained, he is experiencing hisshame and doubt, while feeling guilty.
  • Generativity vs. Stagnation
  • Industry vs. Inferiority is usually when a child is placed beyond his household family, it is Erikson's stage where going to school is vital in psychological development. Kendall studies hard in the library due to the inferiority of his teachers but is also facing a dilemma in which he wonders if he should be making friendships (Identity vs. Role Confusion).
  • (Ego) Integrity vs. Despair
  • Back in my days... when I was your age...
  • A little after the teenage years are over, enters Erikson's Intimacy vs. Isolation, when friendships plus relationships become even moreimportant to psychological development. * I'm not supposed to say but, Kendall has a crush! And in the cartoon depicted above, they are going on a date so that he is not isolated.
  • Haha, you're funny! But, I can't believe it either!
  • One eternity later... * just kidding, but between the ages of 40-65 is Erikson's stage of Generativity vs. Stagnation. This stage is all about home-life: hanging out with the kids, helping out the wife. So in here, Kendall is happily married with two kids!
  • Twoeternities later... or 65 years old and up is Erikson's stage of (Ego) Integrity vs. Despair. This stage is about reflection, a period of rest, one might say. It is our integrity to decide if we were good in this lifetime. Arguably, Kendall isgood as he is reflecting on his time, growing up, with his grandson!
