- Odilia changes because, in the beginning of the novel, she states that her and her sisters are not going to deliver the dead man to his family. But when her sisters still decide that they want to go, she decides to tag along.Pg. 19, Para. 5 says, "We can't go to El Sacrificio."Pg. 42, Para. 3 says, "Okay! I'm coming with you! Stop! Stop!"This tells us that Odilia has changed her mind, and decided to go to El Sacrificio.
- How does this character change throughout the novel?
- Odilia has a hard time accepting the fact that she and her sisters have to go on this journey La Llorona has chosen them to do. And she has a hard time controlling her little sisters.Pg. 55, Para. 5 says, "They're just little girls, dreaming up an adventure. I can't drag them down to Mexico. I can't sacrifice them to follow my path." This tells us that she doesn't think that she can do this, and doesn't think that she should. Pg. 77, Para. 6 says, "If we hadn't been two-thirds of the way to El Sacrificio already, I would have shoved them all back in the car and taken them back home." This tells us that she thinks that she should just take her sisters home. And that she would've taken them home if she had the chance to.
