- John Brown then came together with 21 other troops on Sunday, October 16 1859 had took armed possession of the government.

- After the attempt to free 4 million slaves and failed miserably,

- The militia had surrounded any possible escape routes. John Brown and the nine people he had captured were outnumbered and they had surrendered.
- Surrender!!
- John Brown had been captured by Colonel Robert E. Lee. He had been found guilty of treason. He was then executed by being hung.
- Only a few of Browns men had escaped, most were killed but if not they were being sheltered in the North with formal abolitionists.
