- Lina found the instructions and went to try to decipher the message with Rabee he is a doctor's assistant that knows a lot of vocabulary. Then Rabee didn't really want to help decipher the instructions but lina insisted so Rabee said give me shrimp and crawfish and that I would help because she said she will give me shrimp and crawfish and that that we might find an exit to ember so Rabee agreed so they went to the library, but he was not able to solve everything because this is old vocabulary. It is important because Someday the instructions will help them escape ember.

- In chapter 14, Doon finds lina and he tells her that he found the “E” after discussing with lina, they go to the pipeworks. Doon and Lina wanted to go to the rock labeled E but could not find the actual exit so it only helped them with a clue.it is important because it led them to a clue that can help them find the exit of ember.The dark river

- Mrs. Murdo wanted to take care of Lina and Poppy because their grandmother unfortunately passed away Lina wanted somebody to take care of Poppy but did not know where so Mrs. Murdo helped them and took care of them. And lina couldnt have taken care of poppy all by herself

- Lina wanted to put the mayor in prison but the guard knew what the mayor was doing so they kept it a secret but Lina and Doon are wanted so the guards are looking for them.they arrest Lina and she escapes from the roof.And now the guards are following her.
- It was very dark and the surface of the water was shallow so they could not go further so lina found a lead way that could help them get out of ember. But they were lost and did not know where to go and poppy was scared.

- Lina wanted to tell somebody that they will escape but she thought forgot to tell Mrs. Murdo They were going and she remembered on their way going to the headway. So she did not go back to tell anyone because it would be too far away and dangerous but Mrs. Murdo knew she was going.
