- Many people think that all the Viking died but they’re wrong! They were just slowed down and forced to change their whole way of life.
- In 865 a Viking army was born. The army was known as the Great Heathen Army. This army was lead by the legendary Viking, Ragnar Lothbrock
- After the Vikings 14 year war with the Anglo-Saxon army and domination throughout Northern Europe, their kingdom began to come to a halt as their army began to fracture into two separate army forces.
- This would just be the beginning of the end for the Vikings as they suffered a hard loss to Wessex. This setback would give the lands of Wessex a strong standing army. However, people of Britain had still found themselves under the Viking rule as it was split up as the Vikings in the North and Wessex in the south led by king Alfred.
- Things only went downhill from there as the Vikings suffered a loss at the hands of Wessex. This setback gave Wessex enough time to form a strong standing army that would continue to stifle the Viking incursion. The people of Britain still found themselves under the Viking rule as the Vikings and Wessex were split from the North and South.
- This iconic army was lead by the great Ragnar Lothbrock. And his five Viking sons. The size of this great army is still unknown to this day, but it was thought to be one of the largest army’s to this day.
- This army which was lead by Ragnar Lothbrock and his five sons is known as one of the largest army’s of all time. To this day, we still don’t know the size of this great army. This army had a battle against the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms. This battle lasted 14 years and was filled with blood and terror.
- After the Vikings 14 year campaign against the Anglo-Saxon kingdom. The Vikings began to come to a halt as their armies began to fracture into two different forces. And this was just the start of the end.
