- THERE ARE SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS TO LEARN! LET'S TALK ABOUT 5 WAYS TO DIFFERENTIATION!
- Thoughtful Planning- Plan lessons based on different learning styles. If you are learning a certain topic like about the frog life cycle. You can include books, art, hands-on experiments and videos in order to reach students who learn from different styles.
- Interest- self directed learning. You can set up learning centers that give the students the opportunity to actively participants in their learning process. You can set up a word wall, map station, math area and reading corner.
- Readiness- Determine whether they are ready to take on more challenging problems or need more practice on what they have already learned. Determine this based on daily observations and performance on activities. Students will perform higher on certain activities and have more challenges on others.
- Assessments- Take note of the students performance in class on a daily basis. You can make brief notes if necessary. For formative assessments, assess the students based on their level instead of a one size fits all standard.
- Clear Instruction- Deliver instruction in different ways. You can verbally introduce the material, model the instructions or you can have students demonstrate/role play the task.
