- There once was a fantastic baseball league called the Negro League. In that league there was a fantastic player named Jackie Robinson
- Jackie was signed to the Brooklyn Dodgers and made history and became the first black player in the MLB
- Thanks for letting me on the team. I'm honored to be the first black MLB player and playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers! Wow! I never thought this day would come. Thanks Mr.Branch Rickey
- Glad to have you on the team Mr.Jackie Robinson
- Being the first black player came a lot of hate from his teammates, opposing players and fans.

- Players were signing a petition to kick Jackie off the team But a player named Pee Wee Reese said,
- “I don’t care if hes black, blue, or striped, he can play baseball and help us win.”

- The fans were screaming such hateful and rascist things at Jackie and Pee Wee Reese felt so bad and knew he had to do something about it
