- In this song they sing about being together no matter what her parents say. Barnum and Charity like each other, but Charity's dad didn't want them together because Barnum was poor. Charity goes to boarding school and they send letters back and forth. Barnum gets older and goes back to charity and they go to the city and get married and have a baby.
