- The arabian peninsula is surrounded by the persian gulf, arabian sea, and the red sea. The arabian peninsula has a hot dry desert climate. It lacked freshwater. The monsoon winds brought rain to the mountains and southern parts and eastern parts of Arabia. Arabia was surrounded by the ancient empires of Europe, Asia, and the rest of the middle east
- Humans adapted to all this by using rainfall, springs, and groundwater for freshwater to drink and use for crops. The monsoon winds also helped power the ships from east and west. People lived in groups called nomads or bedouins for a form of protection.
- Mecca grew powerful from the trade and goods that passed through its streets on its way to other lands. The people visiting Mecca for religious reasons helped business and the population of Mecca and the surrounding town grew.
