Storyboard-Text

  • In the stars Beneath our Feet, David Barkley Moore uses first person to throw us into the mind of a 12 year old boy, Lolly, who lives in Harlem New York. Harlem is not a great place for a kid to grow up, there is a lot of gang violence and crime. This sets up the main conflict of the story. Very recently Lolly's brother was murdered at a night club in Harlem and Lolly can not accept the truth.  This sets the tone and style of the story, Fluent. This is to have Lolly come off clear and show what he wants and what his intentions are.
  • Mrs. King speech is has a very similar tone to it, assertive yet frustrated because she is sick of there being no change a sh wants in now and she wants to state her points clearly.
  • The climax of my story is when Vega, Lolly's best friend, Is considering joining a gang in seek of revenge for lolly. So Vega posses a gun in which he is supposed to kill two gang members with it.
  • Lolly ends up talking Vega down from his anger and Vega and lolly end up throwing the gun into a river.
  • My book is pretty much meant for everyone who is willing to help make a change or at least everyone who can see that the situation we are in right now is not right and there needs to be a change.
  • Ultimately both pieces share a similar theme because both are looking for change. the stars beneath our feet is looking for change against violence. and Mrs. King's speech is looking for change against racism. Both  Pieces share a similar theme of staying true to yourself and not letting bad thoughts take over you.
