- Hey coach, I've been struggling with my mental health and my future. Do you have any advice?
- You know what Jacob, I've noticed you've been down lately. This happens a lot with young teenagers.
- I appreciate it Coach. I am going to focus on what makes me feel accomplished and indepedent: Soccer.
- Most likely, you're experiencing one of Erikson's stages of development: Identity vs. Confusion. You are starting to crave independence. I want to reasure you: you are a good soccer player and person!

- I never thought about how good playing basketball makes me feel. I feel confident I can continue to grow my passion for the sport and develop myself into a professional basketball player as my identity.
- With Coach's encouragement, I can keep growing as a basketball player. If I kept being unsure of myself, I would have stayed insecure about my future.
- I knew you could start to believe in yourself. You are very talented and I wish you much success in the future.
