  • Newtons First Law (The law of interia)Every object moves in a straight line unless acted upon by a force. This law states that an object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change its state by the action of an external force. This law helps us understand that an object cannot change its motion unless it has a form of force on it.Playing football is an example because a soccer ball will stay at rest unless a force of some sort moves it, and it will stay in motion unless a different force stops it.
  • Newtons Second LawThe acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force exerted and inversely proportional to the object's mass. The second law states that the acceleration of an object is dependent upon two variables - the net force acting upon the object and the mass of the object.Riding your bicycle is a good example of this law of motion at work. Your bicycle is the mass. Your leg muscles pushing on the pedals of your bicycle is the force. When you push on the pedals, your bicycle accelerates
  • Newtons Third LawFor every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.Newton's third law states that when two bodies interact, they apply forces to one another that are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction. The third law is also known as the law of action and reaction. If an object A exerts a force on object B, then object B must exert a force of equal magnitude and opposite direction back on object A.
  • When I play football, I have to kick the ball for it to move.
  • When I am riding my bike, I have to use my leg muscles to make the bike accelrate.
  • When my horse pulls the cart, the cart will also pull backwards on the horse this is an example of the 3rd law
