  • Canada Declares War on Germany
  • Japan attacks Pearl Harbour
  • D-Day - Invasion of Europe begins
  • After Germany invaded Poland, which caused England and France to declare war on Germany, Canada decided to declare war on Germany on September 10, 1939. To show their independence, Canada did this after England to show that they made their own choices.
  • Canadians liberate the Netherlands
  • After Japan attacked Pearl Harbour on December 7, 1941, and destroyed lots of American ships and killed their people, the US had no choice but to join WW2 and side with the allies, but mainly focus on Japan to get revenge.
  • Germany Surrenders
  • When the Allies regained control of most Nazi bases outside of Germany, the Allies decided to make one big push from the beaches of Normandy which lasted for weeks and they were able to win and push through the rest of Germany
  • The USA drops nuke on Japan
  • While D-Day was happening, the Canadians were given a different task. Liberate the Netherlands. Everybody was happy to see the Canadians who brought food whenever they liberated a city, and crowds of people would cheer when they see Canadian uniformed soldiers. On April 14, 1945, they succeeded in liberating the entire country.
  • After Hitler committed suicide and the Nazi's were left without a leader, which caused them to surrender on May 7, 1945.
  • Even though the Nazis had surrendered, the Japanese weren't giving up, so the American's decided to finally stop Japan by dropping the world's first used atomic bomb on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, and then again but on Nagasaki 3 days later. The aftermath resulted in many casualties and radiation, which is why atomic bombs are not allowed during war now.
