Všetko, čo sa pohybuje, má kinetickú energiu, ako sú automobily, bežci, guľky. Čím rýchlejšie sa niečo pohybuje, tým viac má kinetická energia.
Energia, ktorú uvoľňujú vibrujúce predmety, je energická energia. Čím väčšie sú vibrácie, tým vyššia je zvuková energia.
Tepelná energia, známa aj ako tepelná energia, je spôsobená vibráciou častíc v látke. Čím je teplejšia, tým viac tepelnej energie má.
Chemická energia je energia uložená v väzbách medzi atómami a molekulami. Táto energia sa môže uvoľňovať chemickými reakciami, ako je spaľovanie.
Táto energia sa nachádza v pohyblivých nábojoch alebo statických elektrických nábojoch. Príklady možno nájsť v blesku alebo v akomkoľvek elektrickom obvode.
Každý objekt, ktorý je zdvíhaný, má gravitačnú energiu. Závisí od sily gravitácie, hmotnosti a výšky objektu.
Svetlá energia je známa aj ako radiantná energia. To možno nájsť vo všetkých typoch elektromagnetického žiarenia.
Energia nachádzajúca sa v objektoch, ktoré sú rozdrvené alebo napnuté. Príklady sú stlačené pružiny a napnuté elastické pásy.
Energia nájdená v jadre atómu uvoľneného jadrovými reakciami. Príklady možno nájsť v jadrových elektrárňach alebo atómových bomby.
Magnetická energia je energia súvisiaca s magnetmi alebo elektromagnety.
