Storyboard Tekst

  • The Earth is a round, rocky planet that goes around the Sun. It is made up of three layers: the crust, the mantle, and the core. The crust is the Earth's thin, rocky outer layer and this is where plants, animals, and people live. The mantle covers the core. The core is the center of the Earth and is very hot. The Earth's surface is made up of 70% water and 30% of land. The land is divided into seven huge pieces called continents. The Earth has one moon.

  • The Sun is in the center of the solar system and gives life on Earth energy. It is 864,000 miles in diameter and is 109 times greater in size than the Earth. The Sun is made up of lots of gases like oxygen, carbon, 73% hydrogen, and 25% helium. The Sun spins once every 25 days, and its poles rotate once every 35 days. The Sun is very hot. Its core is about 27 million degrees Fahrenheit or 15 million degrees Celsius.

  • The Moon is a ball of rock that is about 2,200 miles or 3,476km in diameter, which is nearly a quarter of Earth's size. There are lots of mountains, huge craters, and flat planes called seas that are on the Moon's surface. The Moon's temperature during the day is about 225 degrees Fahrenheit or 107 degrees Celsius, and at night, the temperature goes down to about -243 degrees Fahrenheit or -153 degrees Celsius. It travels around the Earth and takes about 27 days to take one trip around the Earth. The Moon is the fifth largest satellite in the Solar System, and it is the second-brightest object in the sky after the Sun.
