- Digital Citizenship is something that is very important in todays day and age and is something that everyone who has access to the internet should understand. Today I will be explaining its importance to better help you understand how it works and why its necessary.
- Digital Citizenship has many parts to it, however I will only be going over the two I find to be the most important.

- Digital Etiquette
- First, lets talk about Digital Communication. The ability to talk to others around the world using the internet is what we call Digital Communication. Communication overall is important, but it's essential to know how it works in terms of communicating through the internet.

- Communication via the internet is very different than in person. Always keep in mind what you are saying, because comments can be interpreted differently. Sarcasm could be a good example of this. Because there is no face to face interaction, comments that may seem genuine can be interpreted as sarcastic.

- Second is Digital Etiquette. Which ties into Digital Communication
- Just like in real life, it's important to have a proper etiquette. Both Digital Communication and Digital Etiquette are needed to insure that you know how to communicate properly online.
- There are lots of examples that can be used to describe Digital Etiquette, however one of the most common examples can be used through messaging or contacting someone.

- The best and probably the most common type of Digital Etiquette, consists of patience and respect.
- This mainly applies when you are trying to commutate with someone and they don't respond right away.
- If they don't respond right away. Give them time, don't pester them.
