- The narrator is trying to convince the cops that he is not mad after killing the old man because of his eye.
- The narrator is taking hours to peek his head in and let only one beam of light fall on the old mans eye.

- The narrator throws the old man to the ground so he can smother him and kill him because he has a vulture eye.
- The narrator is cutting up the old mans body so he can hid e the parts under the floor boards.
- Villains tear up the planks here here it is the beating of his hideous heart.
- The narrator is prying up the floor boards so he can hide the body parts that he just cut up.
- The narrator is welcoming the cops in after the cops heard a complaint about there being a scream last night.
- The narrator is starting to flip out because he is feeling guilt and hears an annoying noise.
- The narrator confesses and tells the cops they are sitting on the old mans dead body the whole time.
