- The Romans moved there capitol to Byzantium.They rebuilt the city nine centuries later to be Nova Roma but changed the name to Constantinople after their emperor Constantine.
- After the fall of the Western Roman Empire the Eastern empire continued, the new emperor, Justinian, named his wife as co ruler. Due to high taxes and strict laws of Justinian made people of Constantinople to riot. While Justinian wanted to flee he decided to listen to his wife and stayed and a week later killed everybody in the revolt.
- A few weeks after the riots and the massacre, Justinian stated the construction of the Church of Holy Wisdom called the Hagia Sophia. It was a massie dome that was enlarged after its first collaspe.
