Storyboard Tekst

  • Love: Romantic
  • Act I, Scene ii, After Ariel leads Ferdinand down the beach to Miranda and Prospero, he falls in love with Miranda at first sight, and the feeling is mutual. Prospero recognizes this, and schemes to take Ferdinand as a servant, to help his overarching vengeance, but also to set up Miranda and Ferdinand in the future.
  • My affections / Are then most humble. I have no ambition / To see a goodlier man
  • O, if a virgin, / And your affections not gone forth, I'll make you / The Queen of Naples
  • They are both in either's powers. But this swift business / I must uneasy make, lest too light winning / Make the prize light
  • Act II, Scene i. Alonso, Gonzalo, Sebastian, Antonio, and others wash up on the shore after the shipwreck. Alonso is wracked with grief, believing his son to be dead, and that he will never see his daughter, just married off, ever again. Gonzalo tries to comfort Alonso, but Sebastian blames him.
  • Love: Parental
  • We have lost your son, / I fear, forever. Milan and Naples have / Moe widows in them of this business' making / Than we bring men to comfort them. / The fault's your own.
  • My Lord Sebastian, / The truth you speak doth lack some gentleness / And time to speak it in. You rub the sore, / When you should bring the plaster.
  • My son is lost; and, in my rate, [my daughter] too, / Who is so far from Italy removed / I ne'er again shall see her. O thou mine heir / Of Naples and of Milan, what strange fish / Hath made his meal on thee
  • Act III, Scene i. Ferdinand, as Prospero's servant gathers wood, and Miranda comes to him to apologize for her father's actions. Ferdinand professes he does not mind, if it is for her sake. They profess their love for each other, and plan to get married. Prospero watches this, and is happy for them.
  • Love: Romantic Paternal
  • I would not wish / Any companion in the world but you; / Nor can imagination form a shape, / Besides yourself, to like of.
  • Fair encounter / Of two most rare affections! Heavens rain grace / On that which breeds between 'em!
  • The very instant that I saw you, did / My heart fly to your service; there resides, / To make me slave to it; and for your sake / Am I this patient log-man.
