Storyboard Tekst

  • I am being dissolved by enzymes that break down food into small pieces, it comes from saliva. This is also where the epiglottis is located and helps to keep food from going into the windpipe.
  • Chewing is the first stage of the digestive system. The food goes into your mouth When you chew your food, the food particles break down into little pieces that are easier to swallow. the saliva has a lot of enzymes that mix with food particles and break down the food particles more, this is called mechanical digestion
  • After you are done chewing, the tongue helps you to push the food down to your throat. the food then travels through a long pipe called Esophagus. when the food particles are already done with traveling through the Esophagus, they arrive at the stomach. In the Esophagus, is a part called peristalsis and it helps make wave-like muscle contractions to push balls of food into the stomach. there is also another part called epiglottis and helps the food to stay in the esophagus and not go down into the windpipe.
  • I am going to the stomach where I will stay for 4 hours.
  • There are lots of enzymes that break down the food.
  • The stomach releases lots of acids and enzymes to break down the food particles even more so our body can absorb it. An enzyme called pepsin present in the stomach helps break down the proteins.
  • When the food reaches the small intestine, lots of juices are produced from the liver and pancreas to help break down the particles. The liver produces bile which helps in breaking down fats and the pancreas produces other enzymes to help break down the other food particles. After that, the particles are transferred in our body through blood, this is called chemical digestion
  • Now I am at the final stage of the digestion, The large intestine
  • The food that is not absorbed by the small intestine will arrive at the large intestine and when the food travels through it the large intestine will absorb the water and other remaining particles and sends it out of your body known as excretion. The intestine is also where microvilli are located and help increase the surface area of intestine so that the nutrients can pass through
