When he got close to Damascus, a great light from the sky appeared. Saul fell, and Jesus asked why he was persecuting him. Saul asked who he was, and Jesus told him he was Jesus, the person he was persecuting. He then told Saul to stand and travel to the city where he will be instructed on what to do next. The men with Saul heard the voice too, but didn't see who it belonged too. They were shocked. When Saul got up, he discovered he had been blinded. The men then had to guide him by hand to Damascus. He didn't eat or drink. He remained blind for three days.

One night, the disciples had Saul go into a basket and escape through an opening in the wall. When he came to Jerusalem to be with the disciples, they were all afraid because they didn't think he was one of them.
